Types of Backups

There are three main backup types used to back up all digital assets:

• Full backup: The most basic and comprehensive backup method, where all data is sent to another location.It consumes High storage space because it stores a lot of duplicate files, slowest backup speed, Fastest Restoration speed. If you want to recovery it requires most recent backup.
• Incremental backup: Backs up all files that have changed since the last backup occurred. It consumes low storage space because there is no duplicate files, Fastest backup speed, Slowest Restoration speed. If you want to recovery it requires most recent full backup and all incremental backups since full backup.
• Differential backup: Backs up only copies of all files that have changed since the last full backup.It consumes Medium to high storage space because it stores duplicate files, Fast backup speed, Fast Restoration speed. If you want to recovery it requires most recent full backup and most recent differential backup.
